Job Description
Website Content Administrator at City of Ottawa
Transit Information & Marketing is responsible for the delivery of transit customer information services and new customer information programs for wayfinding and consistency of the OC Transpo brand and messaging to improve the customer experience and transit services in the City of Ottawa.
Working in a high volume environment with strict production and operational deadlines, the Website Content Administrator is responsible for writing and publishing accurate and timely transit information to customer information systems including the OC Transpo public website, intranet and social media in accordance to the organization’s brand and vision in both official languages and in compliance with Accessibility Standards. The information must reflect our current and future service and be communicated clearly and concisely in a timely manner using best practices for website design and navigation.
Education And Experience
- Completion of 3 year university degree in Communications, English, Multi-media Design or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience working primarily with web content, public information systems or with digital content management systems.
Knowledge
- Strong writing skills and knowledge of Web writing conventions and best practices
- Knowledge of OC Transpo public transit route networks, service and transit information systems
- Knowledge of website Content Management Systems such as Expression Engine
- Knowledge of website enhancement programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXpress, CSS
- Knowledge of website accessibility compliance and plain language requirements
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

- Computer program knowledge such as Content Management Systems MS Office Suite in a Windows environment

- Self directed and able to work independently under minimal supervision
- Flexible and adaptable to deal with shifting priorities
