Overview
The City of Ottawa is seeking an Information Technology Team Lead to plan and manage smaller-scale or lower-risk IT projects. In this role, you will help create business value by providing innovative and strategic technology solutions to support City operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage IT projects using PM methodologies.
- Analyze and develop computer applications.
- Lead assigned staff and contractors.
- Support daily, weekly, monthly reporting on workload.
- Create and update technical content and knowledge base.
Required Education & Experience
Completion of a 3-year post-secondary program in computer science, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible IT experience, including at least 3 years in application analysis and development. Preference is given to candidates with project management experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Project management methodologies (e.g. PMBoK) and IT project life cycle.
- Systems design, development, testing, and implementation.
- IT security practices and municipal technology environments (SAP, Oracle, GIS, SOA, .Net, Sequel).
- Workflow analysis and incident management.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
Competencies
Strong research, analytical, forecasting, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lead teams, interact across all levels, manage overlapping projects, and deliver training and workshops. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
Additional Information
This is a Full Time Temporary Position with a work schedule of 35 hours per week, located at 100 Constellation, Nepean, Ottawa, ON. The salary ranges from $93,764.58 to $114,097.62 annually (2025 rates of pay). Applications must be submitted before 24/02/2026.
