Job Description

Intelligence Analyst - Bronx County District Attorney's Office

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is dedicated to ensuring public safety and equal justice for the Bronx community. The Crime Strategies Bureau (CSB), within the Strategic Innovations Division, collaborates with law enforcement and community members to identify individuals and groups responsible for crimes, with a focus on violent crime. This role is specifically for an Intelligence Analyst assigned full-time to the Domestic Violence Bureau, supported by the NYS DCJS STRIVE grant.

Key Responsibilities

As an Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for providing investigative, analytical, and investigative support to the CSB. Your primary duties will include:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and processing data using industry-current and in-house applications to develop models of crime trends and actionable intelligence in the Bronx and surrounding areas.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of intelligence-driven prosecution strategies.
  • Interpreting intelligence and statistical analysis results through presentations at meetings and consultations with legal, investigative, and support personnel.
  • Performing a full range of intelligence, analytical, and investigative support as needed.
  • Supporting the Strategic Innovations Division and Special Victims Division, specifically the Domestic Violence Bureau, with other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in community work or community-centered activities related to the duties described.
  • Alternatively, education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in data science, mathematics/statistics, computer science, or criminal justice).
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Formal intelligence analysis experience and/or certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially advanced Excel (pivot tables, charts, functions).
  • Strong data mapping skills, including geocoding and photo editing.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology tools and software.
  • Experience with tools like Photoshop, ArcGIS, i2 Analyst Notebook, Palantir is a plus.
  • Capability to build institutional relationships with community residents, organizations, police, and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate investigative results and potentially testify in court.
  • Criminal justice system experience.
  • Adherence to strict legal records management, data protection, and privacy/confidentiality requirements.
