User Support Specialist Role at City of Delta

The City of Delta in British Columbia is searching for dedicated individuals to join the Information Services Help Desk team. This role provides outstanding IT Service Desk telephone and email support to users at City Hall. It involves desktop hardware, software installations, upgrades, moves, changes and troubleshooting, as well as providing audio visual support for Council Meetings and Public Hearings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one IT support via telephone and email
  • Handle desktop hardware and software installations and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot IT problems in an ITSM ITIL compliant environment
  • Offer audio visual support for public events
  • Document work methods and act as a point of reference for colleagues

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Two-year certificate in computer technology or related field
  • Practical knowledge of IT, computer programming, networking, and applications
  • Experience in customer service and clear communication
  • Understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL framework
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license

Additional Information

This auxiliary/casual position operates under direct supervision with room for independent judgment. Applicants must submit copies of relevant certificates and may need to provide a Police Information Check.
