Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Procurement Manager, the Senior Procurement Specialist reviews and processes complex and high-profile procurement of goods and services over $70,000. Responsibilities include administering bids and proposals, maintaining city contracts, negotiating contracts, and preparing and reviewing proposals.
Essential Functions
- Review, check, and evaluate bids, specifications, and award recommendations ensuring quality and compliance.
- Supervise staff and monitor purchasing contracts for compliance with Federal, State, and City codes.
- Research procurement issues and respond to inquiries from City Manager's Office, City Council, and others.
- Assist with testing and implementing procurement software to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide procurement support in issuing notices and resolving complex problems including vendor protests.
- Perform additional work as needed or assigned.

Experience and Education
Requires 4 years of buying or purchasing experience. A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary range is $58,800.09 to $70,582.62 depending on qualifications.
