About the role
Occupational Therapist
Citizens of the World Los Angeles (CWC) is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and innovative Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team. The OT will assess and provide comprehensive occupational services across our Regional and schools, designing therapeutic interventions that celebrate each student’s unique potential. This role supports students' academic, social-emotional, and functional development within our multicultural community and constructivist approach, helping them become confident, capable citizens of the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate remediation, instructional plans, and strategies.
- Collaborate with teams to develop and implement IEPs addressing students’ physical and functional needs.
- Design and implement a variety of evidence-based instructional activities aligned with student’s individualized occupational therapy goals/objectives.
- Perform occupational therapy screenings and follow/implement treatment plans.
- Track service delivery in Welligent on a weekly basis.
- Implement and modify treatment plans based on student progress and needs.
- Document student progress towards meeting established goals and objectives.
- Conduct formal assessments and participate in IEP meetings of students on assigned caseload.
- Partner with teachers to ensure that students meet the goals outlined in their IEPs.
- Develop and conduct training opportunities for classroom staff and parents on the role of occupational therapy, normal sensory motor development, and other relevant topics.
- Monitor and evaluate equipment and assistive technology needs for students.
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress toward IEP goals.
- Collect and analyze student data to track school performance and student achievement in accordance with our educational model.
