The Senior Group Manager Director, Finance Accounting manages multiple teams through other managers, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of how their sub-function contributes to achieving the overall objectives. A strong grasp of the industry, direct competitors' products, and services is essential to support the commercial objectives of the business. This role requires a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the function within the relevant business area, combined with solid conceptual and practical grounding in finance and accounting.

Excellent communication skills are paramount for internal negotiation, often at a senior level, with some external communication potentially required. The Senior Group Manager Director is responsible for executing functional strategy, determining the approach for implementation, and is accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation, and contributing to future strategy for their area(s). The impact of this role reflects the size of the managed team, strategic influence on the business, and interaction with other functions or businesses. This position involves full management responsibility for multiple teams, including people management, budget, and planning, encompassing performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approval. This role may involve or be responsible for diverse, cross-discipline activities, typically reporting directly to a C16 role and functioning as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the management and control of data flows within Finance applications to ensure data integrity and completeness.
• Prepares and records financial transactions for legal vehicle and regulatory reporting purposes, updates the general ledger, and prepares consolidated financial statements.
• Includes specialized accounting areas such as equity compensation, securitization, payroll, and investment accounting.
• Directs and controls the strategy and execution of the company’s activities within a major Infrastructure area.
• Recommends objectives, policies, and plans for this area to senior executives.
• Partners with revenue areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and control.
• Acts as a key member of the company’s management team, representing Citi in dealings with clients and external bodies.
• Manages all staff within the relevant Infrastructure area through the management team.
• Appropriately assesses risk, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating/managing control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of relevant experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Managerial experience is essential.
