About the Role

Citi is seeking a high-caliber professional to join our team as an Assistant Vice President, Institutional Credit Management (ICM) Product Developer with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role is based in Mumbai, India, and offers a hybrid work arrangement. You will be instrumental in transforming how Citi manages Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) by leveraging emerging technologies, including Generative and traditional AI.

The ICM group is dedicated to revolutionizing the way Citi extends wholesale credit to institutional clients. We are rebuilding the end-to-end credit control process, policies, and technology to create a user-centric platform that caters to diverse business lines, regions, and regulatory demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Machine Learning capabilities within credit risk transformation activities.
  • Develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for identified use cases, including high-level architecture design and code implementation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and design teams to assess feasibility, scalability, and technical trade-offs of AI/ML solutions.
  • Refine the product roadmap based on advancements in ML algorithms, GenAI models, and AI regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee the complete AI product lifecycle from ideation to launch, monitoring, and enhancements.
  • Lead product experiments such as A/B testing and pilot programs to validate AI/ML solutions.
  • Utilize modern Emerging technologies (AI/GenAI) for simplification, automation, and quality control to improve internal process efficiency.
  • Launch and manage new products, projects, and initiatives using AI/GenAI, ensuring technical and governance delivery.
  • Lead product working groups to maintain outcome-based roadmaps, track OKRs, and manage risks and dependencies.
  • Drive digital transformation by re-engineering operational business processes, focusing on optimizing target state processes and workflow orchestration.
  • Stay informed on market, industry, and client trends and adapt them for Citi's products and solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's/Bachelor's degree in Business or a technology-related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience as a Data Scientist or AI/ML Engineer with a passion for building impactful products.
  • Expert knowledge of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Traditional AI, including their strengths, weaknesses, and implementation experience.
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently through strategy, design, and implementation phases, being accountable for financial impact.
  • Ability to present complex projects and products clearly to senior leadership.
  • Basic-intermediate Python knowledge is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with front office, middle office, or operational roles supporting the credit lifecycle in wholesale lending.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into tangible work products for technology development.
  • Track record of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and technology partners.
