Job Background Context
The Pension & Insurance Solutions sales team at Citi is an integral part of the Markets division, specializing in the strategic coverage of Pension funds & Insurers. This team leverages cross-asset expertise to address a diverse range of client issues, including investments, hedging, capital optimization, and financing solutions. They engage with key client profiles such as CIOs, CFOs, Heads of ALM, and Portfolio Managers.
Job Purpose/Overview
As a Pension & Insurance Solution Salesperson, you will focus on institutional investors, primarily insurance companies and pension schemes across Germany and Austria. This role involves developing and enhancing client relationships and internal partnerships by offering a full spectrum of cross-product solutions. It is designed as a generalist sales position, not confined to a single product area, and is embedded within Citi’s European and German solution sales organization, allowing full utilization of Citi’s robust platform for the German Pension & Insurance business.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and understand the comprehensive product range of Citigroup’s Fixed Income franchise.
- Support senior sales coverage on daily operational tasks and strategic initiatives.
- Actively participate in the acquisition and development of new client relationships.
- Independently cover smaller accounts for FICC and cross-product solutions.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of markets, products, customers, and competitors.
- Prepare term-sheets, marketing materials, and presentations for client engagement.
- Assist in transaction preparation, execution, and post-sales service.
- Engage in client visits, utilizing research, trading, and structuring insights.
Person Specification
- Good knowledge and understanding of economy and financial markets.
- Strong analytical skills in credit analysis and economics.
- Familiarity with the pension and insurance market, including regulatory implementation and constraints.
- First relevant experience in a financial service organization (markets or consulting).
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in finance or a similar field.
- Demonstrated flexibility, team spirit, and loyalty.
- Excellent sales and communication skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure (stress resistant).
- Proficiency in PC skills.
- Fluent in both English and German.
