Overview
The Legal Group Manager - Regulatory role at Citi is a senior management position responsible for setting strategy and managing a team to deliver legal advice on regulations to all Citi Businesses and Functions. This role requires a proactive attorney with a deep understanding of domestic and international banking regulations and substantial management authority.
Responsibilities
- Advise business and legal management on regulatory impacts including acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations.
- Provide legal support regarding US banking laws and multi-jurisdictional regulations.
- Lead a team of professionals, manage talent, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Negotiate and make decisions affecting the function with significant autonomy.
- Collaborate with compliance and regulators, and represent Citi to external stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess risks to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
Candidates must have over 10 years of industry experience, preferably in financial services, with a strong background in banking regulations and a Juris Doctorate. The position requires bar licensure, strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, along with proven ability to manage complex legal and regulatory matters.
Education
Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree.
