Job Description
About the Role: Data Quality Senior Analyst
The Data Quality Senior Analyst will be an integral part of Citi’s Market Risk Control and Data Analytics (MRCDA) team, taking a lead role in upholding the integrity of Citi’s market risk data. This position involves performing sophisticated data analytics, including reconciliations, monitoring, gap analysis, sensitivity analysis, and thorough investigation and remediation of issues within information feeding into CitiRisk Market Risk (CRMR). The scope of market risk data includes Monte Carlo and Historical Value at Risk (VaR), Fundamental Review of Trading Book (FRTB), Global Scenario Stress Testing (GSST), Permitted Product List (PPL), Product Market Model (PMM), and Critical Data Elements (CDE).
Responsibilities

This includes conducting root cause analysis of flagged data quality issues, identifying strategic fixes, coordinating their implementation (including User Acceptance Testing and sanity checks post-production release), and documenting/tracking issues via the Data Concern Remediation Management (DCRM) process.
- Maintain CDEs and their associated DQ rules and controls by reviewing rules for completeness and accuracy, considering CDE nature and background. This also involves providing justifications for recommended DQ rule updates, discussing them with data consumers for approval, and updating rules in the Data Catalog and CRMR scorecard to reflect approved recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations to upper management, covering various statistics, updates on data quality issues, and points requiring escalation.
- Deliver regular and time-sensitive ad-hoc reports to meet requirements from regulators, compliance, and senior management.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships across various functions and management levels, fostering partnerships with data officers, data consumers, and technology owners.
- Develop a deep understanding of diverse market risk data elements, extending beyond CDEs, that influence Monte Carlo and Historical VaR, FRTB, and GSST.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in Data Quality analysis, with experience in Risk and/or Finance being a significant advantage.
- Possess strong data analytics, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities to manage the full lifecycle of data quality issues across multiple systems.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, providing in-depth analysis to clearly define and interpret data quality issues and propose strategic solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with counterparts across different areas and building strong partnerships.
