Job Description
Asset-Backed Securitization & Financing Associate at Citi
The Asset-Backed Securitization & Financing (ABS&F) group at Citi specializes in structuring and executing Asset-Backed Securitizations (ABS) and various lending facilities. These transactions span a wide range of consumer and commercial asset classes. This specific Associate role will focus predominantly on industrial transportation assets, including aviation, rail, shipping, and containers, alongside digital infrastructure and other esoteric asset classes.
ABS&F provides clients with the opportunity to monetize stable, recurring asset cash flows through bankruptcy-remote vehicles. Transactions are executed both in the capital markets, where Citi places financings with institutional investors, and through lending facilities funded via Citi’s commercial paper conduits and balance sheet.
This role offers a unique dual perspective, functioning as an underwriter for capital markets transactions and as a credit analyst for lending transactions. ABS&F also offers advisory services to clients on balance sheet management and transaction execution. The team frequently provides secured financing and strategic advice in conjunction with event-driven transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions and restructurings.
Our diverse client base includes leading captive and independent financial companies, banks, and corporates, both domestically in the US and internationally. The group fosters strong collaboration with analytics, trading, sales, syndicate, derivatives, corporate banking, and investment banking professionals across the organization. Members of our securitization team are strategically located globally, including in New York, Hong Kong, London, and Sydney.
Citi is recognized as a market leader in both traditional and non-traditional ABS asset classes, consistently ranking as a top practitioner in the market.
