The Early in Career Data Analyst / Engineer will join the Data Solutions and Insights team within Cisco IT. Your Impact
This role within the Data Solutions and Insights Team focuses on empowering the Device Experience team with data from various systems, including Mac, Mobile, Windows, Linux, Security, and Device Lifecycle teams. You will use data to proactively prevent problems, uncover hidden value, accelerate decision-making, and drive overall employee device experience improvements across the Device Experience Team and wider Cisco IT. You will learn from a team of Data experts, working with a wide range of datasets around laptop and mobile devices, collaborating with Device Security, Mac, Windows, Mobile, Linux, and Asset Management teams. Your primary responsibility will be to work with the data engineering team to identify and integrate new datasets, maintain existing data import capabilities, and proactively ensure critical metric consistency across various dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Recent/upcoming graduate of a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) or a certification program (e.g., Bootcamp or Apprenticeship). Equivalent experience accepted.
- High-level understanding of how to manage the lifecycle of data and tools such as DBT, Github, Snowflake (or similar systems).
- Experience using SQL and/or Python to manipulate data.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
- Legally able to live and work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some experience using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or ThoughtSpot is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Agile and Jira.
- Curious about how things work and how they can be improved.
- A good listener who can identify core needs beyond stated solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to use data to understand process performance or issues.
- Passionate about and committed to lifelong learning, willing to invest in skill development.
