Overview
The Research Administration Specialist I at Cincinnati Children's supports faculty and senior staff in managing sponsored program proposals, budgets, and compliance. This role involves customer service, proposal development, budget development, and portfolio management.
Job Responsibilities
Customer Service: Build strong working relationships with divisions, faculty, and key stakeholders. Respond quickly and effectively to requests while ensuring customer needs are met.
Proposal Development: Assist faculty in drafting sponsored program proposals and related documents, interpret sponsor guidelines, compile required documents, and prepare budgets under supervision. Ensure timely, accurate submission following established procedures.
Budget Development: Gather expenditure data (salaries, fringe benefits, supplies) and support the calculation and alignment of budget components with sponsor guidelines. Collaborate with faculty for feasible budget details.
Compliance and Portfolio Management: Review proposals for compliance with policies, verify accuracy, and compile required documentation. Manage a portfolio of divisions to facilitate proper submissions.
Job Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, preferably a Bachelor of Science in research or related discipline. Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience, be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, and possess strong communication and detail-oriented skills. A basic understanding of sponsor portals like Grants.gov and eRACommons is needed.
