Job Description
CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team is a key player in the energy transition. As an Electrical Technician/Technologist - Hydropower Testing & Commissioning, you will work on construction and reconstruction projects for hydroelectric power plants. You will design and develop high-power switchgear and controlgear systems, prepare technical drawings and calculations, and coordinate with various engineering disciplines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design electrical power systems and layouts for hydropower projects.
- Develop power system diagrams, drawings, and detailed layouts.
- Perform equipment sizing calculations and material selection.
- Coordinate with structural, civil, control, and protection teams.
Qualifications
- College Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- More than five years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Hydro-Québec standards or similar utility standards is an asset
- Experience with power distribution design and AutoCAD
- Fluency in French and professional English
- Familiarity with Quebec Electrical Code and design standards
