Data Measurement and Reporting Advisor - Provider Contracting
The Data Measurement & Reporting Advisor provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Data Measurement & Reporting assignments/projects for the Out-of-Network Protection Team (ONPT). Specific focus on Out of Network pricing and No Surprises Act (NSA) business data.
Delivers analytical and operational reporting, business performance measurement and management dashboards through the use of portals and self-service tools across the organization. Creates and delivers automated solutions driving relevant insights in partnership with Business Analytics and IT. Provides guidance on end-user needs, informs reporting solution design, and fulfills data and measurement requests in support of business priorities. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Data Measurement & Reporting, but works on broader projects, which require an understanding of the wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.
Analytics & Data Analysis
- Leverage data to answer business questions by identifying data needs, extracting data from relevant sources, and performing detailed analysis.
- Use technical expertise (e.g., SQL, Python) and analytical tools to explore operational data, identify trends, drivers, and outliers, and explain performance outcomes.
- Support testing and monitoring efforts by defining metrics, tracking performance indicators, and identifying emerging issues.
Reporting & Visualization
- Design, build, and maintain standardized reports and dashboards that support ONPT operations & decision-making.
- Enable self-service analytics by creating clear, well-structured reporting solutions using business intelligence tools.
- Continuously enhance existing reports to improve clarity, usability, performance, and insight generation.
Data Quality & Foundations
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
- Develop and maintain documentation for datasets, metrics, and reporting logic to support transparency and reuse.
Operational Support & Automation
- Respond to ad hoc analytical requests while identifying opportunities to standardize or automate recurring analyses.
- Build repeatable queries, scripts, and datasets to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround time.
- Support ongoing operational performance management through KPI tracking and recurring analytics deliverables.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholder groups to align analytics outputs with business needs.
- Provide guidance and analytical expertise on recurring data questions and reporting challenges.
Basic Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including complex joins, subqueries, and performance optimization.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex data clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, troubleshoot autonomously, and work through problems independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in web scraping, OCR, and other unstructured data retrieval methods.
- Experience working with large or enterprise-scale data platforms (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Databricks).
- Familiarity with Agile delivery models and work management tools.
- Claims data experience, though overall data acumen is more important.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,700 - 161,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
