About the Role
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. In the role of Business Development Manager, you will join a dynamic team within one of Canada's largest Global Asset Management firms to drive sales growth and develop new business relationships. You will work closely with a Director, Regional Sales, and external wholesalers to promote investment solutions and services.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will focus on prospecting new business and managing existing client relationships through proactive outreach, primarily via telephone sales and face-to-face client meetings when needed. Key responsibilities include:
- Prospecting and developing new business opportunities over the telephone.
- Strengthening existing client relationships to meet sales targets.
- Collaborating with external wholesalers to execute strategic sales plans.
- Maintaining in-depth product knowledge and market trends for effective client engagement.
- Utilizing CRM systems for tracking sales, managing pipelines, and ensuring data integrity.
- Working with the marketing team to distribute sales materials and campaign initiatives.
- Participating in training programs to stay current with industry developments.
- Ensuring all communications adhere to compliance and legal standards.
Who You Are
You are a sales-savvy professional with a minimum of 5 years in financial services, preferably with a background in mutual funds or wealth management. You possess excellent communication skills, a keen analytical mindset, and relevant certifications such as a Canadian Securities Course accreditation. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field is required. Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) is essential.
