Overview
Chicago Eye Surgeons is seeking a Business Development Manager & Surgical Coordinator to drive growth and manage all aspects of surgical coordination. This role focuses on building referral relationships, marketing, and surgical scheduling to expand the practice’s presence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with physicians and community partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and represent the practice at events.
- Maintain the website and social media with updated practice news and SEO.
- Coordinate surgical schedules and obtain prior authorizations.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of surgical cases and facilitate communications.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong sales background and knowledge of referral networks.
- Experience in marketing with SEO/social media.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, cataract, and LASIK surgery.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience in surgical scheduling, insurance verification, and preauthorization.
- Certification as Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant/Medical Technologist is required.
- Minimum 5+ years ophthalmic experience and 2+ years sales experience.
Work Environment
This role is based in the Elgin and Lombard offices, with occasional work at Chicago. Candidates will support a busy ophthalmology clinic with moderate to high patient volume.
