About the role
Project-Based Developer Google Cloud WordPress Integration
We’re looking for a reliable, self-directed independent developer for an initial short-term project to repair, and modernize established websites, and finish a plugin for a small but well-built real estate data platform. With successful completion, there is potential for additional modest project phases as the platform evolves.
What You’ll Work On
- Update and deploy a Flask/Python backend on Google Cloud (App Engine → Python 3 / Cloud Run).
- Integrate BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage for listings and media.
- Refactor the custom WordPress “ChicagoHome” plugin to work with the DIVI theme (partially complete).
- Potentially, merging a new MLS API - if that repair is needed.
- Document configurations and build steps for smoother future work.
What We’re Looking For (and not)
- Experience with Python (Flask) and JavaScript (React).
- Familiarity with WordPress (plugins, hooks, PHP).
- Required: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud (App Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Storage).
- Comfortable integrating the Google Maps API.
- Has experience with MLS data/Real Estate API’s/and-or RETS (this is a big plus).
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
- Communicates clearly, provides updates early, and asks good questions.
- Has a public GitHub account to share coding styles and examples.
- No 3rd party agencies or subcontractors. Only looking for independent developers, which is firm.
