About the Position
A Senior Data Analyst at Chevron is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and problem solving related to complex datasets. This role transforms data into actionable insights that support strategic business decision-making. It requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, data visualization, and data modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Extract and interpret complex datasets using Microsoft Azure Services.
- Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database.
- Data Visualization: Create interactive dashboards with Power BI, Spotfire, and Tableau.
- Azure Services: Utilize Azure Data Lake for efficient data storage and quality assurance.
- Power Platform Integration: Automate processes and build workflows using Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists.
- Data Governance: Implement quality checks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Mentoring: Guide junior data analysts on best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in data analysis, visualization, or related fields.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure Services including Azure Synapse, Data Lake, and SQL Database.
- Proficient in Power BI, Spotfire, and Tableau.
- Strong SQL skills and experience in data modeling.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks) and programming (Python, R).
- Knowledge of data governance practices.
Additional Information
This role supports Chevron's global operations with work hours aligned to business needs. Typical work weeks run Monday to Friday with shifts from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm. Chevron is based in Houston, Texas and participates in E-Verify as required.
