Salesforce Education Cloud Architect
As required by our governmental client, this position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an an active Public Trust clearance to qualify. A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in research audit processes, data integrity, and transaction management, pursuing the role of Salesforce Education Cloud Architect. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex system behaviors, identify issues not surfaced through standard error notifications, and interpret how transaction dependencies can impact data outcomes. Skilled in translating technical explanations into clear, actionable insights and ensuring system configurations align to prevent data conflicts. Brings a detail-oriented, solutions-focused approach to designing and optimizing Education Cloud environments that support accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Salesforce Education Cloud Architect: $160-190k
Pay commensurate with experience.

Salesforce Education Cloud Architect Responsibilities Include
- Serve as the technical architect for Salesforce Education Cloud implementations, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Salesforce best practices.
- Collaborate directly with education-sector clients to translate strategic goals and operational needs into comprehensive Education Cloud architecture and roadmap.
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture including data models, integration strategy, declarative and programmatic components, and environment management.
- Architect and oversee legacy data migrations from student information systems or custom education platforms into Salesforce Education Cloud.
- Design and document complex data models using Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and ensure alignment with Education Data Architecture standards.
- Evaluate and recommend Salesforce-native and third-party tools to support implementation goals (e.g., OmniStudio, Marketing Cloud, Tableau).
- Support business analysts, consultants, and developers through design sessions, architecture reviews, and code/configuration governance.
- Contribute to proposal development, solution demonstrations, and pre-sales activities as needed.
- Mentor junior Salesforce professionals, promote architectural best practices, and contribute to practice-wide enablement and innovation efforts.
- Knowledgeable about the Education Cloud roadmap, the features on Salesforce’s roadmap, and assist the project manager with the project roadmap planning.
- Has experience architecting Student Management (Academic Operations) and Alumni solutions.
- Responsible for the project's architecture documentation, for internal and external use.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Salesforce Education Cloud Architect Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Bachelor Degree is required).
- 20 Years of general work experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of Salesforce experience, including 2+ years in a Salesforce Architect or Technical Lead role.
- Proven experience designing solutions using Salesforce Education Cloud, Salesforce Experience Cloud Sites, and Education Cloud Data Model.
- Demonstrated success leading data migration projects from legacy education systems into Salesforce.
- Strong understanding of ERDs, data relationships, and custom object/field design to support complex education use cases.
- Experience with OmniStudio, Flow, and declarative automation tools.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and collaborative team environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical solutions to executive stakeholders.
- Salesforce Certified Education Cloud Consultant.
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect (highly preferred).
- Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, Advanced Administrator, or Consultant (e.g., Education, Service, Sales, Experience Cloud).
- Salesforce OmniStudio Consultant or Developer certification.
- An understanding of data migration from a legacy system to a new Salesforce implementation is highly preferred.
- Maintain Salesforce certifications and be willing to assign them to HigherEchelon; seek to earn additional certifications for Salesforce.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance, if necessary.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
