Role Overview: Public Health Advisor
Cherokee Nation Integrated Health (CNIH) is seeking a Public Health Advisor to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This crucial role provides technical assistance and operational support to a CDC program, focusing on scientific regulatory activities concerning medical countermeasures (MCM). The position requires a foundational understanding of FDA regulations pertaining to drugs, vaccines, biologics, and medical devices, particularly within the context of public health preparedness and emergency response. Candidates must possess an active NACI clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Key Responsibilities of a Public Health Advisor
- Searches, synthesizes, and interprets relevant information to support the safe and effective use of medical countermeasures under appropriate regulatory mechanisms.
- Conducts literature reviews and scientific evidence synthesis to support the development of required scientific regulatory documents.
- Performs data cleaning, statistical analysis, and interpretation to support regulatory decision-making.
- Assists in drafting regulatory documents, technical summaries, and scientific reports.
- Supports the development of standard operating procedures and regulatory documentation workflows.
- Provides technical assistance and regulatory guidance on MCMs during public health emergency responses.
- Assists in tracking submission timelines, document revisions, and regulatory correspondence.
- Supports the integration of clinical, epidemiologic, and operational data into regulatory documentation.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities
- Master of Public Health (MPH) or a related graduate-level degree is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, or a related discipline is required.
- Experience supporting public health, epidemiology, or regulatory activities.
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills are essential.
- Experience in emergency response or outbreak support is preferred.
- Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal, including obtaining an active NACI clearance.
