Job Description

Product and Technology Intern

Chatham Financial is looking for motivated and curious individuals to join their Summer Internship Program. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in financial risk management and advisory, working alongside experts in capital markets. Interns will become an integral part of client services, product and technology, engagement, or operations teams, developing critical skills in finance, analytics, and consulting through hands-on projects. Chatham Financial emphasizes professional development and a distinct work environment that values people, teamwork, integrity, and client service.

What You'll Do

Interns will contribute to impactful initiatives, with specific responsibilities varying by team placement. Past interns have supported work in areas such as interest rate and foreign currency risk, debt and derivative valuation, financial reporting, structured finance, client support, hedge accounting, and capital markets solutions. Tasks include assisting with data analysis, market research, client deliverables, trade reporting, and presentation development. Interns may also build business intelligence dashboards, enhance operational workflows, and participate in collateral management and trade lifecycle tasks. A significant component is the collaborative capstone intern project, where interns work with peers and subject matter experts on initiatives like designing client education materials, conducting SWOT analyses, researching best practices, and developing strategic business plans. Participation in weekly company-wide and team meetings, as well as intern social and networking events, is also expected.

What You’ll Learn

The program includes a structured onboarding process and ongoing mentorship. Interns will develop a foundational understanding of capital markets, financial risk management, and Chatham’s advisory services. They will also gain insight into how product & technology teams operate within a product company and address global market challenges. The internship aims to hone analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a practical business setting. A mid-summer self-assessment and reflection process will help interns discover their unique strengths. Additionally, interns will build a network of peers and professionals and gain a deep understanding of technologies and processes used to build financial markets products.

Who We’re Looking For

Chatham Financial seeks motivated, curious individuals with a collaborative mindset and a desire to make a difference. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and entering their junior or senior year in Summer 2026, pursuing a degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, or a related field. Key qualifications include strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, leadership potential, and a service-oriented attitude. Experience working with large datasets, financial modeling, and statistical analysis is a plus, as is familiarity with business process modeling and mapping. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required, with familiarity with additional tools like Python, SQL, or Power BI being an advantage.

Internship Details

The internship program runs from June 29, 2026, to August 7, 2026. Applicants must be available for the full duration, working Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, onsite in the designated office.
