Job Description

Undergrad Intern - Operations Transformation Intern

Join Amgen's mission of serving patients by contributing to the Operations Transformation and Digital Strategy (OTDS) team. The OTDS group enhances business performance across Amgen Operations by scaling Continuous Improvement (CI 2.0) and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.

What You Will Do

As an Operations Transformation Intern, you will play a crucial role in designing and piloting a Continuous Improvement tracker. This tracker will accelerate Operations work through CI 2.0 and support the development of a CI project tracking system. This system will leverage AI-guided Lean Six Sigma coaching to improve project visibility, quality, and adoption across Amgen's global CI network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and pilot CI Project Tracker: Support the build of a CI project intake system, modeled after existing CI Award program structures.
  • Contribute to pilot testing and feedback: Ensure continuous iteration of the solution to meet evolving business needs.
  • AI-guided enablement: Assist in designing AI prompt logic that coaches users through the Define to Control phases of projects.
  • Identify network-level CI insights: Analyze CI data to reveal active CI projects, cycle times, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Leverage AI: Enhance, simplify, and accelerate process innovation across the organization.

What We Expect of You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older.
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent.
  • Completion of one year of study prior to commencing the internship.
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's degree program following the internship.
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts.
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree concentration in Business Administration and Data Science.
  • Experience with AI/ML fundamentals (AI prototyping, prompt engineering, model evaluation, automation workflows, basic ML concepts).
  • Familiarity with data tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel advanced analytics).

What You Can Expect of Us

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30 per hour.
