Role Summary

The Network Security Engineer will help shape the next generation IT security strategy and solutions. The role involves hands-on engineering and support of Schwab's security architectures with a focus on large scale private and public cloud security as well as overall network security design.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years technical experience with virtualized and containerized platforms.
  • Strong understanding of application, server, and network security.
  • Experience with firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet.
  • Hands-on security design with software defined firewall tools (e.g., VMWare NSX-T, Panorama).
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, ACLs, VLAN, QoS, Multicast, and Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, PCF, Azure) and SCM/DevOps tools.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, IT, Computer Science or related field (or practical equivalent).
