About Chainguard
Chainguard is the secure foundation for software development and deployment. By providing guarded open source software, built from source and updated continuously, Chainguard helps organizations eliminate threats in their software supply chains.
Founded by the industry's leading experts on open source software, security and cloud native development, Chainguard has built the largest library of open source software that is secure by default.
Chainguard’s mission is to be the safe source for open source.
The Role: Senior Marketing Analyst
Chainguard is seeking a Senior Marketing Analyst to significantly enhance how we measure, understand, and optimize marketing performance and ROI across demand generation, performance marketing, and the BDR motion. This high-visibility position involves close partnership with Marketing, Finance, and RevOps leadership to establish analytics frameworks that guide investment decisions and foster pipeline growth. You will be instrumental in defining success metrics rather than merely reporting on them.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain end-to-end funnel analysis, connecting website engagement, campaign performance, and downstream pipeline.
- Own performance marketing and web analytics, analyzing paid search, paid social, and website traffic to identify high-performing pages, conversion drop-offs, and funnel friction.
- Diagnose full-funnel performance from first touch through opportunity, surfacing optimization opportunities across campaigns, landing pages, lifecycle flows, and BDR handoffs.
- Analyze lead quality, speed-to-lead, and conversion performance to improve follow-up efficiency and meeting outcomes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting that show pacing, performance, efficiency, and ROI across channels, segments, and regions.
- Analyze marketing performance to identify drivers, risks, and opportunities, presenting clear, actionable recommendations to Marketing leadership.
- Support regular executive reporting (monthly reviews, QBRs, revenue updates).
- Help tell clear, compelling data stories that influence budget allocation and marketing decisions.
- Lead bi-weekly marketing performance meetings focused on marketing programs, insights, and recommendations.
- Contribute to improving analytics infrastructure, documentation, and reporting standards.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, performance marketing analytics, marketing ops, or a similar role in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to frame ambiguous business questions and translate data into actionable insights.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and BI tools (Sigma preferred) plus marketing attribution tools like Hockeystack.
- Deep understanding of performance marketing and web funnels, including paid media, website optimization, and conversion analysis.
- Solid understanding of marketing and sales funnel metrics, pipeline, and attribution.
- Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with stakeholders across varying levels of technical and data fluency.
- Highly proactive, independent, and comfortable owning work end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
Company Values & Benefits
Chainguard is customer obsessed, has a bias for intentional action, doesn’t take itself too seriously while doing serious work, and fosters trust through transparency. Benefits include a flexible & remote-first culture with team meetups and stipends, stock options with a 10-year exercise window, 100% covered health, vision, and dental insurance for employees and dependents, unlimited flexible time off, and 18 weeks of paid parental leave.
