Overview

The Director of Business Development Corporate Distribution at C.H. Guenther & Son is responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining strategic business relationships across the Corporate Distributor enterprise. This role leverages joint business planning, innovation summits, and strategic planning to drive sales and profit opportunities aligned with CHG’s KPIs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Joint Business Planning process with customers.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and strategic supply chain meetings.
  • Activate CHG’s culinary, R&D and marketing teams to support growth initiatives.
  • Negotiate new contracts and manage renewals including RFP process.
  • Support the Away From Home Team with clear communication of distributor strategies.
  • Engage in field support and strategic meetings with distributor sales leadership.
  • Maintain monthly opportunity pipeline and execute training for new product introductions.

Minimum Job Requirements

College degree, valid driver’s license, minimum 5 years managing Distributor Headquarters or Regional Relationships, and at least 10 years of Foodservice Sales experience.

Technical and Interpersonal Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership with effective cross-department communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

Working Conditions and Expectations

This role is based in a home office environment with substantial travel (up to 50%) primarily in the United States. Must reside in a major U.S. metro market, preferably Chicago.
