Your Role and Responsibilities as a Senior AWS Cloud Architect

As part of an interdisciplinary AWS Architecture team, you will take on important tasks and responsibilities within projects and services, working closely with your engineering colleagues and our clients.

In this role, you will design and implement modern cloud technologies, prioritizing sustainable IT architecture design and very high stability and availability of the application landscape. With us, you won't be a 'PowerPoint Architect' – you are responsible for both the conception and implementation of AWS architectures based on our clients' defined requirements. You will also provide advice during requirements management and solution design. Security and Governance are integral to your decisions from day one of the design process.

Your tasks include:

• You are the technical point of contact for our customers & provide technical leadership to our Cloud & Dev(Sec)Ops Engineers.
• You translate customer requirements into highly available and secure AWS architectures, considering software architecture and utilizing cutting-edge technologies & trends.
• You consciously choose the right platform for the solution – IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, or FaaS? Containerized or Serverless?
• You are responsible for the environment's governance and design appropriate processes and tools (e.g., using AWS Config or Terraform Sentinel).
• At the architecture level, you are responsible for the environment's security. Here, you successfully convince our customers of the benefits of identity-driven security concepts, Zero-Trust paradigms, and DevSecOps, as opposed to classic network-based security approaches.
• You implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automate Everything (primarily based on Terraform).
• You design and implement container-based solutions, primarily based on (managed) Kubernetes.
• You configure Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipelines (e.g., based on Gitlab, Github, or Jenkins) to increase efficiency in customer projects.

What We Look For

In addition to a passion for Cloud Architectures, you bring an information technology degree or comparable training and several years of professional experience in implementing IT architectures in conjunction with cloud-based services and platforms.

Furthermore, you possess the following skills:

• Certifications for AWS or Kubernetes – preferably as an Architect.
• Broad knowledge of the current Cloud Service portfolios of major players (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of methodologies for technical leadership, agile approaches, and IT architecture.
• Professional communication skills in German and English.
• High level of personal responsibility and proactivity.
