Overview

The AWS DevOps and Terraform Engineer at CGI is a highly skilled role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on using AWS cloud services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, along with Python scripting for automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Implement IaC best practices for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Develop Python automation scripts and tools to streamline operations.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, etc.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams for smooth deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance policies in cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation for infrastructure and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Expertise in Terraform for managing complex infrastructure modules.
  • Solid Python scripting skills for automation and tooling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git, GitHub/GitLab).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Culture

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification is a plus. Familiarity with other IaC tools like Ansible and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies are also preferred.
