About The Role

The Director of Quality will lead three critical verticals—Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Reporting directly to the VP of Quality & Reliability, you will build teams, processes, and tools to ensure scaling quality during aggressive production ramps and consistently satisfy customer needs.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Quality:

• Lead and scale quality across U.S.-based contract manufacturers.
• Deploy proactive monitoring using SPC, parametric analytics, AOI, and AI-driven inspections.
• Conduct structured problem-solving (5 Whys, 8D) for fast issue closure.
• Manage quality alerting and manufacturing change control processes.
• Collaborate with Reliability to integrate manufacturing and field data.

Supplier Quality:

• Oversee supplier quality to align on DPPM targets and corrective actions.
• Develop deep partnerships with suppliers for improved incoming quality.
• Implement a rigorous supplier scorecard process.
• Champion continuous improvement from NPI to volume production.

Quality Management System (QMS):

• Establish and improve a QMS that drives enterprise quality processes.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards while maintaining agility.
• Implement disciplined document control, audit readiness, and preventive actions.
• Embed a customer-first mindset across processes.

Company-Wide Impact:

• Facilitate cross-functional quality issue cadence and executive alignment.
• Publish quality KPIs to drive accountability (yield, DPPM, etc.).
• Represent the customer by ensuring feedback loops from field to factory.
• Champion a quality-first culture balancing speed with rigor.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven leadership in Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, and QMS in complex electro-mechanical assemblies with 10–15 years of experience. Required skills include strong statistical/data analytics, familiarity with SPC, yield analysis, Python/SQL, and experience with structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, PFMEA/DFMEA). Must hold a B.S. or higher in a relevant engineering field and demonstrate success in scaling quality processes from NPI through high-volume production.
