Job Summary
Centric Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Content Management Systems CMS Consultant to conduct an in-depth analysis of media industry best practices for CMS and integrated publishing environments. This temporary role (W2T) is fully remote and focuses on evaluating CMS processes, print integrations, preview capabilities, and change management strategies for enterprises publishing multiple integrated print and digital periodicals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-world examples of how media organizations structure editorial workflows and publishing pipelines using various CMS approaches (unified vs. composable).
- Conduct a comparative assessment of CMS processes and operations using a maturity assessment structure.
- Evaluate different media organizations' CMS, detailing strengths, weaknesses, tradeoffs, and industry best practices.
- Assess how media organizations integrate CMS with print production workflows, including InDesign-based systems like K4, distinguishing between native and custom solutions.
- Evaluate editor experience and multichannel preview capabilities across web, mobile, and print channels within various platforms.
- Analyze change management strategies employed by media organizations to migrate editorial teams from legacy systems, covering staff onboarding, workflow transition, and adoption risk.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of content management in the media industry. Your background includes:
- Extensive experience with international digital and print news/media publishers.
- Demonstrated expertise with enterprise CMS platforms.
- Proven track record with integrated print and digital subscriber-based publishers.
- Experience with references/case studies of CMS work with peer publishers.
- Proficiency in print publishing workflows (e.g., Adobe InCopy/K4).
- Experience with multichannel digital publishing (e.g., Spotify, Apple News, app, web, syndication).
- Experience leading platform evaluations, migrations, and implementations is a significant plus.
- Strong understanding of content lifecycle management.
