Operations Team Manager
Job Summary
Business Unit/Department Mission: Responsible for driving the business plans and strategies developed by the General Manager into day-to-day implementation and action plans, as well as managing an optimal customer experience. Provides operational support, facility maintenance, and leadership in the absence of the GM and Directors.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
General Store Operations
- Drives business plans and strategies into day-to-day implementation and action plans.
- Manages mid-level managers and lower-level managers, including coaching and training.
- Accountable for the management and supervision of Partners in the Maintenance Department.
- Develops guidelines and procedures to set future precedent and direction.
- Assists in strategy development for the Maintenance Department and sets policy and direction.
- Leads cross-functional teams and projects.
- Ensures general operational standards are met on a consistent basis through store walks and corrective actions.
- Monitors and addresses facility maintenance issues to ensure prompt replacement and/or repair.
Customer Service and Partner Interaction
- Proactively builds relationships with Customers and assists Store Leadership in maintaining positive Partner morale and retention.
- Manages store conditions (inside and outside) to create a safe, clean, and unobstructed shopping experience and work environment.
- Responds to Customer and Partner emergency issues, requests, concerns, and resolves Partner issues.
Maintenance and Food Safety & Sanitation
- Supervises and manages Operations Managers and the Maintenance team, ensuring budget, schedule, and performance objectives are met.
- Monitors conditions and reports, documents, and tracks all store maintenance, facility, and/or equipment issues.
- First responder to equipment issues, troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis.
- Ensures all equipment is maintained in safe working condition.
- Addresses customer incidents relating to product safety or quality.
Loss Prevention
- Trains Operations Managers on proper loss prevention procedures.
- Initiates calls and acts as the point of contact for loss prevention and enforcement issues.
- Identifies shrink opportunities and takes immediate action or reports issues.
- Maintains store security and handles emergent issues, working with security and law enforcement.
- Ensures all tills are in bookkeeping at close of business.
Other Duties
- Prepares Capital Requests for GM review.
- Monitors store/company licenses and registrations.
- Covers Receiving back door security.
- Analyzes and evaluates expense management.
- Assists other Managers with shrink opportunities.
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure a clean, safe customer experience.

Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience.
- Education from a college or technical school, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience in handling sensitive people issues, emergency response situations, theft issues, and other serious scenarios.
- Proven ability to set objectives and lead a team to accomplish business goals.

- Successful completion of Central Market University (CMU) training.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts, small confined spaces, cleaning chemicals, and airborne particles.
- Moderate noise level.
- Lift moderately heavy loads up to 50 lbs. individually, with potential for heavier loads when team-lifting.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and squat.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to push/pull heavy loads of 75 lbs.
