Position Purpose
As a Senior IT Project Manager at Centene Corporation, you could change everything for 28 million members by using technology to improve health outcomes worldwide. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of technology projects to ensure completion on time and within budget.
The Senior IT Project Manager manages scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, vendors, and contractual deliverables, while developing detailed project plans, monitoring milestones, and generating status reports. The role also involves evaluating risk, incorporating quality measures, and ensuring proper project closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple medium to large projects.
- Develop objective-based comprehensive project plans.
- Build and maintain stakeholder, vendor, and third-party relationships.
- Create project schedules, charters, status reports and work breakdown structures.
- Track and report financial data and project performance.
- Identify and manage project risks with timely escalation.
- Ensure adherence to corporate operational standards and quality measures.
- Provide ad hoc project support and compile project status reports.
Education, Experience & Technical Skills
Applicants require a Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of relevant experience or equivalent knowledge. Technical skills desired include Microsoft Office, Project Management, Root Cause Analysis, Sourcing, Stakeholder Management, Vendor Relationship Management, Agile Software Development, Scrum, and Software Development Life Cycle.
Soft Skills & Certification
The role calls for analytical skills, independent work ability, high accuracy under pressure, effective communication, and sound judgment. A Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI certification is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range is $85,300 - $158,100 per year. Centene Corporation offers competitive pay, comprehensive health insurance, 401K, stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and flexible work arrangements including remote, hybrid, field, or office schedules.
