Lead IT Portfolio Management Analyst

Position Purpose

As a Lead IT Portfolio Management Analyst at Centene Corporation, you will be instrumental in leveraging technology to improve health outcomes for 28 million members worldwide. This role focuses on the strategic prioritization of IT projects, ensuring alignment with overall technical and business objectives, and guiding resource allocation. You will support the development of project and program execution plans, manage Agile/Lean portfolios, and contribute to strategy, investment funding, Agile portfolio operations, and Lean governance. A key aspect of this role involves applying lean thinking to program and product initiatives and coaching stakeholders to achieve optimal results.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate portfolio management processes to ensure strategic alignment of technologies and goals.
• Develop and monitor reporting metrics and portfolio dashboards for predictable project or product release success.
• Create visibility into areas struggling with scope, schedule, resources, or budget.
• Contribute to the development, management, and optimization of portfolio, program, and project management methodologies and disciplines.
• Facilitate resource and budget planning with IT teams on new demands and contribute to project sequencing within the portfolio.
• Identify dependencies and critical paths, aiding stakeholders in their management.
• Improve and streamline the portfolio and project lifecycle by collaborating with business units, user bases, and tool teams.
• Identify and resolve problems, often anticipating issues to prevent escalation, and develop/implement solutions.
• Analyze project risk profiles and balance at the portfolio level.
• Contribute to capacity planning for initial and ongoing identification of resource needs and scheduling to support critical portfolio decisions.
• Develop and maintain processes for integrated project scoping between various workgroups and identify operational impacts and dependencies.
• Maintain departmental work processes for IT controls and analyze demand data for trend identification and reporting.
• Identify key leading and lagging risk factors and ensure compliance with all policies and standards.
• Drive portfolio planning and operations for assigned portfolios.

Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 – 7 years of related experience, or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments reflecting the level of this position.

Technical Skills Desired

• Experience with ServiceNow, Flexera, and/or BDNA.
• Experience with Data Analysis.
• Knowledge of IT hardware/software assets, applications, and application platforms.
• Knowledge of JIRA.
