About the role
About the Role
As a Test Development Engineer, you will be at the heart of our product lifecycle. You won't just "test" products; you will design, develop, and implement cutting-edge Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and sophisticated test programs. Your mission is to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of excellence.
Tailor Your Path: Hardware or Software
We are looking for engineers who want to lead and take ownership in their area of expertise:
- Hardware Specialization: Focus on the physical conception and build of the tester, including architecture, component selection, and system verification.
- Software Specialization: Focus on the "intelligence" of the system, designing and implementing programs to automate the hardware for robust functional testing.
Our Mindset: What We Expect From You
Technical excellence only happens with the right culture. We expect our team members to thrive under these principles:
- Radical Transparency: We operate with total clarity so everyone is aligned.
- Intellectual Courage: We value those who raise their hands, try new things, and always strive to do what is right.
- Leader Relationships: We don't just follow; we lead. You are expected to take ownership and initiative in your field.
- Common Goals: We work toward a single objective, prioritizing team consensus and success over individual work.
Detailed Description
In This Role, Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include:
- Solution Architecture: Provide high-level test hardware and software architecture, reviewing datasheets to select appropriate equipment based on requirements.
- End-to-End Development: Design, develop, and integrate test solutions (hardware & software), including system qualification and installation to meet project quality plans.
- Strategic Planning: Support the creation of functional test strategies and technical proposals, including proposals and hours estimates.
- Advanced Debugging: Resolve complex tester issues using design of experiments (DOE), failure analysis, and statistical industry methods.
- Design for Testability: Collaborate with product design teams to provide feedback on testability, coverage, and diagnostics to improve user experience.
- Manufacturing Optimization: Stabilize test solutions for manufacturing, working with process teams to optimize cycle time and yield.
- Technical Representation: Attend and contribute to technical customer meetings and stay up to date with relevant industry regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Skills:
We are looking for versatile engineers with a solid foundation in electronics. These are the essential skills we expect you to bring:
- Electronic Analysis: Solid ability to read and compose complex electrical diagrams, both digital and analog.
- Instrumentation Mastery: Extensive knowledge and hands-on use of laboratory tools such as multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- Testing Methodology: Experience in circuit verification and defining acceptance test procedures.
- Global Communication: Professional fluency in English (written and oral).
Depending on your professional passion, you can lean toward one of these two specialized paths:
Path A: Hardware Development (Creating the Tester)
- Focus on the physical architecture of the machine.
- Component Selection: Expert criteria for evaluating datasheets and selecting components based on critical parameters.
- System Design: Ability to design robust test hardware that bridges the gap between design and manufacturing.
- Verification Excellence: Applying statistical and industry methods to ensure hardware stability.
Path B: Software Development (Automating the Hardware)
- Focus on the automation of the testing process.
- Programming Languages: Advanced skills in Python, LabVIEW, or C#.
- Automation Logic: Developing sophisticated test programs to automate hardware functions and data collection.
- Debugging & Analysis: Resolving complex issues using Failure Analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
