Job Summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a dedicated Clinical Informaticist RN for their Perioperative Inpatient COOL Team. This hybrid role offers mentorship to operational groups and end-users, acting as a liaison between EIS and customers for system implementations, upgrades, and support. The role involves managing project intake, evaluating new technologies, and translating requirements for optimal workflow and system build to benefit clinical, revenue cycle users, and patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship to operational groups and end-users as a liaison between EIS and customers.
  • Facilitate discussions and partner with leaders on project and optimization request intake, prioritization, and coordination.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies.
  • Translate requirements and ensure efficient workflow design and system build.
  • Manage projects from needs analysis to communication with business owners.
  • Ensure effective processing of project, optimization, and issue request information, including logging and tracking.
  • Establish working relationships with operational personnel, senior management, and clinicians.
  • Ensure project goals, achievements, and implementation dates are met.
  • Identify and communicate project problems or barriers to EIS leadership and sponsors.
  • Track and ensure resolution of project issues.
  • Identify critical path and predecessor tasks for project completion.
  • Compile milestone lists and communicate with user areas.
  • Ensure a testing plan is developed and implemented.
  • Document current state and help design future state workflows, engaging vital stakeholders.
  • Monitor project status and ensure utilization of project monitoring tasks.
  • Conduct and lead project meetings, including agenda management, notes, and follow-up.
  • Provide status reports and updates on project aspects.
  • Assist other application project managers/leaders with scope definition and alternatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as an RN or NP in an inpatient setting; perioperative (periop) experience preferred.
  • Cedars-Sinai and Epic Optime experience highly preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of departmental operations, processes, and clinical nursing policies/procedures.
  • Solid grasp of clinical, financial, and/or patient management healthcare applications or systems.
  • Understanding of the healthcare applications suite and its role in acute care, physician, ambulatory, and ancillary settings.
  • Excellent clinician and physician relationship skills.
  • Ability to translate end-user workflow and requirements into application requirements/design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Nursing, or related field (BSN or MSN preferred).
  • Current License as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in CA (preferred).

Work Arrangement

Hybrid Remote: Must currently live in the Los Angeles area or be willing to relocate to the LA area for onsite requirements.
