Role Overview
The Construction Intern will support both the planning and execution phases of concrete construction projects. This includes gaining practical experience in formwork design, project estimating, scheduling, and safety tracking. You will work closely with project teams to resolve design challenges, coordinate resources, and assist in preparing proposals and quantity takeoffs. This internship is designed as a one-on-one learning experience, translating classroom knowledge into real-world application to build your confidence and career direction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the planning and estimating stage of projects to ensure efficient, safe, and economical form systems.
- Assist with the preparation of accurate formwork layout drawings and erection instructions.
- Work closely with the project team monitoring safety, cost, and scheduling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve concerns regarding structural design.
- Aid in the preparation of quantity surveys, formwork estimates, and project proposals.
- Assist in coordinating material purchases, deliveries, tracking, and forecasting.
- Manage special projects and complete other assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- In the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
- Some knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM Modeling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to travel and work for an extended period on projects outside of the office area.
