Job Overview

The GIS Business Analyst will use geospatial data to enhance network planning, market analysis, and infrastructure deployment. This role involves evaluating coverage areas, customer demographics, and asset locations for data-driven decision-making to optimize service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Apply utility design and engineering principles to guide decisions.
• Analyze, interpret, and visualize spatial data for fiber, wireless, and broadband networks.
• Create and maintain geospatial dashboards, maps, and reports.
• Integrate datasets from FCC, BDC, NTIA, and internal sources.
• Utilize Power BI and Smallworld GIS for analysis.
• Develop GIS software proficiency including Excel, SQL, Python, FME, and Model Builder.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, and sales teams to identify trends.
• Build predictive models and perform site suitability analyses with ESRI tools.
• Support broadband grant applications and compliance reporting.
• Convert complex spatial analytics into actionable business intelligence.
• Maintain spatial databases ensuring data integrity and usability.
• Assist with process automation and workflow optimization.
• Work with Project Designers to review and input project data into GIS software.
• Keep confidential all customer and internal sensitive data.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of GIS business analysis experience; 1+ year in telecom or utilities.
• Proficient in ESRI GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Strong geospatial analysis and data visualization skills.
• Good knowledge of telecommunications networks and related datasets.
• Experience in data integration, cleaning, and transformation.
• Knowledge of telecom data sources including FCC Form 477, BDC, and NTIA Fabric.
• Business intelligence and reporting expertise.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to embrace corporate values and demonstrate leadership behaviors.

Work Schedule & Additional Information

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST, with occasional requirements to work outside normal hours and approximately 25% overnight travel. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
