Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the Data Centre Operations Manager role is to lead the operational team serving our client. Responsibilities include creating shift schedules, vacation plans, and training programs, as well as onboarding new employees. This role also encompasses P&L responsibility for the technical teams. Additionally, the role involves operational tasks for technicians across various specializations.
Other Responsibilities
- Lead the operational shift team (shift technicians) and ensure high-quality service delivery on-site.
- Ensure that contracts are managed by a competent and skilled team, with appropriate task-specific expertise and effective succession planning in place.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met and exceeded.
- Foster healthy and safe working conditions, ensuring both client and company safety practices are implemented and regularly monitored across teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure appropriate control systems are functional to meet statutory, process, and contractual obligations.
- Ensure client-centric operations in all operational areas and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts.
- Provide leadership, guidance, advice, coaching, and direct support in best practices for recruitment, training, evaluation, and rewarding.
- Implement effective business communication by participating in and contributing to management team and team meetings, briefings, discussion forums, correspondence, announcements, and monthly and ad hoc reporting.
Your Profile
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role, including managing technical teams.
- Prior experience in critical environments / data centres or at least one of the following fields: M&E (mechanical & electrical), facility management, projects, building services, or building technology services.
- Experience working with various stakeholders (employees, suppliers, clients).
- Ability to guide contract-based activities towards strategic goals, maintaining employee engagement.
- Ability to adapt to diverse and complex challenges in the operating environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, along with the ability to build trust with the team, clients, and CBRE management.
- Excellent ability to build and maintain internal and external customer relationships, and good networking skills.
- Strong business understanding and commercial mindset, with the ability to comprehend financial figures.
- Excellent proficiency in both Finnish and English.
