Overview

The role of Senior Assignment Producer, Parliamentary Bureau at CBC/Radio-Canada involves leading a team in a fast-paced newsroom environment. You will manage assignment desk operations, oversee staffing and scheduling, coordinate news coverage, and support journalists with editorial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop stories for broadcast and online platforms.

  • Assign and support reporters and producers with story development.
  • Manage production schedules and coordinate technical resources.
  • Contribute to election coverage and execute diversity and inclusion strategies.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a university degree or equivalent with at least seven years of national-level programming leadership experience. Strong organizational, communication, and mentoring skills are essential, alongside a deep respect for diversity and inclusion in news production.

Additional Information

This permanent, full-time role is based at CBC/Radio-Canada’s Ottawa headquarters. Candidates will be subject to background checks including a criminal record check.
