The Mission
We are seeking an outstanding Machine Learning Architect to join our expanding Cloud Native Applications team. The ideal candidate possesses profound expertise in ML system design and is enthusiastic about collaborating with our customers, partners, and colleagues to propel innovation. Your mission will involve working closely with Caylent’s Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Project Managers to deliver sophisticated AWS solutions to our diverse and forward-thinking customer base. You will engage with the latest technologies and support clients aiming to bring pioneering ideas to market.
Your Assignment
- You will serve as a mission control specialist, guiding Cayliens and Customers through Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and more.
- Translate customer requirements into a practical backlog of tickets for engineers.
- Delegate tickets to a team of engineers to successfully complete customer projects.
- Lead requirements gathering, backlog grooming, and architecture discussions.
- Apply your deep understanding of DevOps pipelines, including build automation, branching strategies, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, security, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across customer development, testing, and production environments.
- Automate software testing at multiple levels (component, configuration item, subsystem, system) and monitor results.
- Write production-quality code, including comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate with a team to deliver top-tier cloud native applications on AWS for customers.
- Clearly communicate and meticulously document your designs, processes, and procedures.
- You will demonstrate a passion to ‘Stay Curious’ as you mentor peers, tackle new technologies, and learn from our world-class team of engineers.
- Coach and mentor less experienced teammates, while also benefiting from mentorship by world-class engineers.

Technical Qualifications
- Extensive experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
- Expert-level experience in Amazon SageMaker and ML libraries (TensorFlow, MXNet, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Strong understanding of ML concepts: feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, Neptune, Comet).

Compensation
Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is CAD $152,000 - $171,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.
This role may require up to 25% travel, depending on business needs.
