Job Description

Digital Consultant at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Caterpillar is hiring a Digital Consultant focused on dealer deployment of the digital products for Rental & Used equipment, including CatRentals.com, Customer Portal, Rental DMT, CatUsed.com, and MyUsed. This role drives dealer adoption, customer registrations, and customer utilization of these platforms.

What You Can Look Forward To In This Role

As a Digital Consultant, you will partner and collaborate with dealers to drive the deployment of the Rental & Used suite of digital tools and platforms. Your focus will be on delivering customer and business value, typically measured by increased registered users, user engagement/utilization, online leads, and attributable sales across the full customer lifecycle. You will interact extensively with appropriate digital team members, data owners, and analytics teams to understand capabilities, integration points, and deployment status, while also providing business requirements back to the Cat Digital organization. You will collaborate with dealers on digital assessments, providing recommendations and action plans to improve their digital capabilities, processes, and online customer experiences. This role involves providing supplemental tracking and reporting at an individual dealer level to offer actionable insights for digital experience improvement. You will create and operationalize training resources for dealers to drive better consistency across the network and gather Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Business (VOB) to support the digital roadmap for rental. Communicating expectations and requirements to the Rental & Used Digital Product partners in Cat Digital is crucial. You will identify opportunities for lead process improvement with dealers and actively monitor the competitive digital landscape and capabilities, leveraging competitive intelligence and deep customer understanding to define future capability and enhancement requests. This position may also provide dedicated focus to a critical capability, industry, region, or project, with other job duties assigned as needed.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of techniques to measure work effort quality and quantity for improvement.
  • Products and Services: Ability to apply knowledge of major products and services appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Relationship Management: Skill in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Software Product Training: Competence in creating and delivering training on the implementation, operation, and utilization of technology products and systems.
