Operating across high-growth markets such as Texas, Florida, the Carolinas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Tennessee, the company manages the full development lifecycle—from land acquisition and entitlement to construction oversight and asset management.

Team members collaborate to identify strategic land opportunities, execute development plans, and ensure timely delivery of build-ready lots that support growing communities.

Job Summary

The EVP Land Acquisition plays a critical leadership role in building and leading the land acquisition function for a fast-growing off-balance sheet residential lot development company. This role drives strategy, systems, and processes for identifying, sourcing, and acquiring land opportunities, with full P&L responsibility and team leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of land acquisition experience with top-tier homebuilders or development firms
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing, negotiating, and closing large-scale deals
  • Strong financial acumen and market analysis skills
  • Proven leadership in team building and system/process development

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement land acquisition strategy and systems
  • Negotiate lot purchase agreements and manage P&L for revenue growth
  • Lead and grow a team of regional Acquisition Managers
  • Build and manage a pipeline of acquisition targets through networking
  • Conduct financial, market, and feasibility analyses for land deals
  • Collaborate internally for smooth transition of acquired deals
  • Establish and nurture industry relationships with brokers, landowners, and municipalities
  • Set and track key performance metrics for acquisitions
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Experience with large-scale, multi-state residential land portfolios
  • Expertise in high-growth markets (TX, FL, NC, SC, NJ, PA, DE, TN)
  • History of optimizing acquisition processes with scalable systems
  • Professional certification in project management, real estate, or finance is a plus
  • Advanced negotiation skills for dealing with joint ventures and partnerships
