Introduction to the role
In partnership with our client, CareerBuddy is seeking a Compliance Lead to serve as the architect of regulatory integrity and operational excellence for a trailblazing fintech startup building a smart wealth management platform in Ghana. This role bridges innovative financial products and Ghana's rigorous regulatory framework.
Who are we looking for?
You are a process-driven professional with 5+ years of experience in fintech, banking, financial services, or regulatory compliance in Ghana, with direct experience working with bodies such as the Bank of Ghana or SEC Ghana. You have a keen eye for detail, are structured, execution-oriented, and excel in handling high-volume documentation and regulatory filings.
Your Responsibilities
- Regulatory Engagement & Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for Ghanaian regulators, manage filings, and represent the company in discussions.
- Compliance Framework & Policy Management: Design, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks across various functions including KYC/CDD, AML/CFT and data protection.
- Monitoring & Risk Management: Monitor transactions and customer activities to ensure compliance with AML, fraud, and data privacy standards.
- Audit & Regulatory Readiness: Lead compliance preparations for audits and regulatory reviews ensuring audit-ready documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product teams and stakeholders to embed compliance in operational workflows.

Success is measured by on-time regulatory filings, clean audit records, streamlined data collection, and robust relationships with regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in fintech, banking, or regulatory compliance in Ghana
- Experience with Bank of Ghana, SEC Ghana, or similar
- Strong understanding of Ghanaian regulatory requirements in digital financial services
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
