About the Role
Career Renew is recruiting for a talented Senior Core Systems Engineer - Crypto to join a stellar team of leaders and experts in blockchain technology, cryptography, infrastructure, and security. This remote role is open to candidates based in the US or EU.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate MPC signers, HSMs, and TEEs (e.g. AWS Nitro).
- Build low-level services and middleware in Rust and other systems languages.
- Architect distributed databases and stateful services for performance and reliability.
- Develop secure APIs and networking between core systems and high-level services.
- Optimize resource usage, latency, and throughput across critical workflows.
- Collaborate with cryptography, infrastructure, and product teams to deploy new protocols.
- Document core systems and support client and partner discussions.
Requirements
Candidates should have at least 8 years of systems engineering experience with a focus on security, infrastructure, or backend. Deep expertise in Rust and experience with distributed systems, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic key management is essential. Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases in high-availability environments is required, along with strong skills in secure networking and performance optimization.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $180,000 - $260,000 per year. Equity: 100-200 stock options vested over 4 years. Benefits include healthcare, a 401K plan, and travel expense coverage. Equipment provided: MacBook Pro and essentials.
