Job Description

Blockchain Engineer at Career Renew Client

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Blockchain Engineer. This is a fully onsite position located in NYC or San Francisco. Salary range: $200-300K USD yearly.

About the Project: Multi Asset Margin for Hyperliquid

We are building Multi Asset Margin for Hyperliquid, enabling users to post variable forms of collateral instead of selling it for USDC and depositing it. This feature currently comprises over 86% of accounts in Crypto.

About Hyperliquid.xyz

Hyperliquid is the fastest-growing crypto derivatives exchange, operating in a 20-30B dollar annual revenue sector. It currently holds approximately 6% of the global market share and generates over $1B in annualized revenue in USDC with a 99% net margin.

How We're Building It

Utilizing blockchain technology, users will post collateral on our systems, and we will extend USDC collateral on venues of their choice. We bring the venues to the user, rather than requiring users to navigate to other venues. Users can post various forms of collateral and eventually trade on Hyperliquid without selling down their collateral.

Your Role on the Infrastructure & Platform Team

Join our Infrastructure & Platform team to architect and deploy highly reliable, scalable blockchain services with lightning-fast performance. You will lead the development of mission-critical core infrastructure that powers our products.

What You'll Do

  • Develop storage layers, execution engines, transaction pools, gossip protocols, and state-machine replication to deliver high-throughput, low-latency performance.
  • Implement, harden, and extend consensus algorithms to guarantee safety, liveness, and high performance under real-world network conditions.
  • Profile CPU, memory, I/O, and network stacks, identify bottlenecks, and push performance limits.
  • Integrate diverse cryptographic primitives including hash functions, Merkle proofs, digital signatures, encryption schemes, key-exchange protocols, and proof systems.
  • Design and implement reliable peer discovery, NAT traversal, connection pooling, load balancing, congestion control, encrypted networking (TLS), and multiplexed transports (e.g., TCP, UDP, QUIC).

What You Bring

  • 2+ years building blockchain-based distributed systems and consensus engines.
  • Expert proficiency in C++, Rust, Zig, or other low-level languages.
  • Deep understanding of consensus protocols (e.g., PBFT, HotStuff, Tendermint).
  • Strong cryptography fundamentals: hashing, Merkle trees, multisignatures, elliptic-curve cryptography.
  • Solid networking experience: TCP/UDP, QUIC, peer discovery, NAT traversal.
  • Hands-on experience with key-value store databases for efficient state storage and high-throughput access (e.g., RocksDB, MDBX).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation & Package

  • $200-300k annual salary.
  • Company equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA options.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Retirement plan with employer match.
