About The Role

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of all Careem-managed IT systems and network infrastructure. The role involves day-to-day support, incident management, and continuous improvement of infrastructure systems.

Key Objectives And Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support IT infrastructure, voice/data networks, MPLS, DPLC, wireless and multisite mesh networks.
  • Monitor layers 1-7 and provide end-to-end support.
  • Design and implement new network solutions and improve current network efficiency.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, SASE gateways, firewalls, WAN accelerators, and aggregators.
  • Manage incident escalations, ensuring timely resolution within SLA targets and performing root cause analysis.
  • Oversee controlled and auditable infrastructure changes and documentation.

Administration

  • Monitor and report on IT Infrastructure and network services.
  • Provide 24x7 second-line support and incident escalation.
  • Conduct service reviews and liaise with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Track and resolve single points of failure and support project streams on infrastructure changes.

Communication

  • Communicate project information to superiors and team members.
  • Deliver engaging and well-organized presentations.
  • Address escalated issues with timely and tactful communication.

Technical Knowledge

  • Hands-on experience with Datacenter management, LANs, WANs, Wireless Networks, and Virtualization.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, MPLS, Firewalls, SASE networks, VPN technologies, and IT security tools.
  • Exposure to VMware, Open Source technologies including Linux, VoIP telephony systems, and integrated applications.

Problem Solving

  • Apply patience, determination, and persistence for technical troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate options and generate effective solutions to complex issues.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science or related discipline. Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, MCITP, AWS/Azure and Security+ or ITIL are desired.

Desired Skills

Experience with next generation firewalls, MDM, Virtualization (VMWare, AWS), Active Directory, SSO, SASE, LANs/WANs, and TCP/IP protocols. Knowledge in managing heterogeneous network environments is a plus.

Good To Have

Experience with Zscaler, Jump Cloud, Sonus voice gateways, Genesis call center solutions, Cisco Meraki, and Orange MPLS.

Experience

Minimum 3 years experience in a similar capacity within organizations of 1000+ users.
