Overview

The Senior Coordinator, Collections at Cardinal Health is responsible for the collection of outstanding accounts receivable. The role focuses on dispute research, developing payment plans with customers, and building trust with both external customers and internal business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Reverify insurance benefits and research denied CPT codes.
  • Identify trends inhibiting timely payment.
  • Manage 50 to 100 denials daily per supervisor requirements.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers for reimbursement requirements.
  • Review outstanding AR accounts and contact insurance for explanations.
  • Document contacts accurately with internal and external parties.
  • Collaborate with the appeals department for disputed/denied claims.
  • Understand electronic claim interchange and claims life cycle.
  • Maintain front office support relationships and take incoming calls.
  • Ensure regular attendance and meet processing/reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Insurance follow-up experience preferred.
  • Understanding of managed care contracts, fee schedules, Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Experience with computerized billing software and EOB interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and CPT coding.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with Chemotherapy and Radiation Billing.

Compensation & Benefits

Anticipated hourly range: $21.00 - $26.87 USD. This role is bonus ineligible.
