About the Role: Hospital Pharmacist Remote Order Entry
Through our remote service, you will serve acute-care hospitals, providing an opportunity to practice hospital pharmacy outside of a traditional hospital setting. This role allows you to utilize your clinical skills, including monitoring, dosing, and reviewing patient medication therapy, while leaving the dispensing responsibilities to the hospital. This unique approach to pharmacy operations offers flexible work schedules, a collaborative team environment, and dedicated time for you to focus on essential patient care.
Cardinal Health Remote Pharmacy Services is actively seeking a highly energetic and clinically oriented pharmacist to join our remote pharmacy team. As a Remote Pharmacist Overnight, you will leverage your clinical expertise to remotely serve our clients’ patients, ensuring top-notch continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Remote order entry and CPOE order evaluation and verification.
- Assure acquisition or renewal of all pharmacy staff licenses.
- Performs as staff pharmacist as needed.
- Physician and nursing consultations.
- Clinical medication dosing services.
- Review and monitoring of profiles and lab values for therapeutic outcomes.
- Coordinates access to medications according to facility policy and procedures, and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Active pharmacy license in your state of residence as well as the state of original licensure.
- An active TX license is required; OK and WY licenses are preferred.
- 2-4 years of clinical hospital inpatient experience preferred.
- Ability to gain reciprocity to additional states as required for practice.
- Computer savvy to learn and successfully operate multiple pharmacy information systems.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate successful interactions with other healthcare professionals for competent clinical care delivery.

At this level, you are expected to apply working knowledge of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks. You will work on projects of moderate scope and complexity, identify possible solutions to technical problems, and take action to resolve them. You will apply judgment within defined parameters, receive general guidance, and potentially more detailed instruction on new projects. Your work will be reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $48.70 per hour to $69.60 per hour, based on experience. This role is not bonus eligible.
