Overview
Capital One is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join its Experience Design team. This role focuses on creating memorable product experiences that build the Capital One brand, drive innovation, and address complex business challenges.
Role Expectations
As a Product Designer, you will blend expert design craftsmanship with leadership skills to co-create innovative solutions. You will direct design projects, mentor junior team members, and partner with cross-functional teams. Key areas include:
- Product Design Expertise: High skill in interaction, visual, and service design using tools such as Figma.
- Leadership: Direct projects, mentor designers, and drive design process maturity.
- Human-Centered Design: Leverage data and research to focus on customer-centric, inclusive solutions.
- Business Focus: Utilize market insights and competitor analysis to influence product strategy.
- Problem-Solving: Work with tech and data teams to overcome technical constraints.
- Collaboration & Communication: Build partnerships across business units and present impactful designs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: At least 5 years in a Product Design role with hands-on experience in design and prototyping tools like Figma.
Preferred Qualifications: Over 6 years of experience, deep familiarity with design systems, and proven leadership in design projects. Experience in regulated, data-focused environments is a plus.
